Range Rover has entered the electric vehicle market with its first fully electric SUV, now available for order in the UK at a starting price of £154,070. Customers can expect deliveries to commence in 2027, as the company makes a significant shift towards electrification. The new electric model will be produced at Jaguar Land Rover’s Solihull facility, underscoring the brand’s commitment to sustainable automotive innovation.
Equipped with dual electric motors, the Range Rover Electric delivers up to 550PS and 850Nm of torque, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.3 seconds. It boasts an impressive driving range of up to 372 miles, as per the WLTP testing cycle. Its power comes from a 118.5kWh battery that supports 800-volt charging, enabling rapid recharging from 10% to 80% in about 22 minutes under optimal conditions.
While embracing electric technology, the SUV retains Range Rover’s signature luxury design and off-road prowess. It features enhanced aerodynamic elements and maintains its capability to wade through water depths of up to 900mm. The development and testing of this vehicle have been extensive, ensuring it meets the high standards expected of the Range Rover brand.
Battery packs and electric drive units for the Range Rover Electric will be produced at Jaguar Land Rover’s Wolverhampton site, supporting the manufacturing process and demonstrating the company’s integrated approach to electric vehicle production.
