Italian house prices continued to rise in the second quarter of 2026, marking a 4% increase compared to the same period last year, as reported by national statistics. This growth indicates a deceleration from the 5.1% annual increase recorded in the first quarter of the year.

Turin stood out among major Italian cities, experiencing the most significant surge in house prices with an 8.5% rise year-on-year. This increase represents a notable acceleration from the 3.8% growth seen in the first quarter, underscoring Turin’s robust real estate market.

Rome followed closely, with house prices climbing by 6.4% annually, which indicates an uptick from the previous quarter’s 5.5% rise. This steady increase reflects continued demand in the capital’s housing market.

Conversely, Milan experienced a significant slowdown, with house prices increasing by only 2.4% compared to the same period last year. This represents a sharp decline from the 7.1% growth reported in the first quarter, suggesting a cooling off in Milan’s real estate sector.
